Revive & Replenish with Kiehl's

My skin is dry and when I am wearing thick foundation for that high coverage look, it can be cakey and flaky at the end of the day. I discover that a facial oil can help me with this problem. The most love facial oil from Kiehl's which is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a skin savior. So to keep skin hydrated and not dry I tried the 24 hours correcting concentrate regime. All of these are from Kiehl's! You know I am a fan of this skincare. One of my favorite is their Candelula Cleanser. I am eyeing on their face mask next. But here are the products I tried for a week now and I can see a difference! It is a simple day & night skincare regime that has help with my dry skin.

During the day I will use this Daily Reviving Concentrate. I loveeeee the citrus scent it has! I think it is a citrus scent, I'm not sure but I love the scent of this facial oil and it makes me awake during my morning routine. This facial oil has a very watery texture and makes absorption fast. This helps to strengthen my skin against daily aggressors. It provides antioxidants protection which are the blends of Ginger Root, Sunflower and Tamanu. I use about 2-3 drops of this Daily Reviving Concentrate and pat it all over my face. Then in circular motions, I gently massage it on to my skin and do avoid the eye area. This retails for RM234 for a 30ml bottle.

The star and my new "sleeping partner". I use this Midnight Recovery Concentrate during the night.  This facial oil helps to  Regenerates, repairs, and replenishes skin for smoother, healthier skin. It has a very soothing and calm scent. Might be from the Lavendar Essential Oil in this facial oil! This also ask like a "sleeping mask". That is why it is best to use during the night. During sleep, this will helps to keep my skin hydrated even in air condition room, and when I woke up in the morning, my skin looks energize and less dull. This facial oil contains Evening Primrose Oil, Lavendar Essential Oil, Squalane. Squalane is a signature Kiehl’s ingredient which is the one that has been keeping my skin extra soft and supple. Same technique, I use 2-3 drops of this facial oil and gently press it to my entire face, then I massage it into my skin to let it fully absorb. This facial oil can be use alone or you can also pair it with your favorite mosturizer. My favorite product to pair with is the next item below! This retails for RM243 for a 30ml bottle.

After either both of the facial oil, I will use this Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream. This gel like cream contains Imperata Cylindrica which contains high concentrations of potassium, thus this has been providing my skin a long lasting hydration without feeling to oily on my face. It also contains  Antarcticine, which is the one that help my skin a protection against dryness. Using the facial il can sometimes leave a oily texture to my face, but I pair up with this and it helps to make my face feels more comfortable and hydrated. It is true to what it said, my face does not look oily all day even when I am wearing high coverage makeup. The gel like texture leave a cooling effect to my skin. I skin feels calm and comfortable and ready for a sun block and makeup! It is a great base for makeup routine. This retails for RM120.00 for a 50ml jar.

Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash Review

As-salamu alaykum and hello everyone ♡. Kiehl's recently has launch a new facial wash. Inspire by the best selling Calendula Toner from Kiehl's from 50 years ago and said to remains a worldwide customer favorite, selling 1 every 20 seconds! Describe as a cleansing face wash that is skin-refreshing, deep cleansing face wash that soothes skin without over-drying. Calendula is known for its highly regarded in the Traditional Chinese Medicine ingredient, it is traditionally used as a medicinal herb. Plant pharmacological studies suggest that Calendula extracts have strong anti-viral, detoxification properties. In our formula it provides care for normal to oily skins. So I have combination skin and let see what I think about it.

What I like about it. Can I talk about the packaging first? Love it. I juts love how Kiehl's has this vintage medical looking bottle. Super nice and I love how this bottle comes with a protecting twist pump. On the pump, as you can see there is an arrow. So if you are traveling, all you need to do is twist the cap back to lock the pump so there would not be any dripping or leaking in your bag while bringing this cleanser. It is soap-free and sulfate-free. An amino acid-based that is carefully selected is the one that helps lather and is the one that brings out the foam. The foams make cleansing a pleasure! The texture of this facial wash is a liquid that foams up easily. The price may be a little steep but for a 230ml bottle that may last your for months. I still have not reach 1/4 of the bottle after 3 weeks using it.

What I don't like about it. Maybe just the scent. I don't really like the scent of this facial wash. It does not lingers but just that it just not my preferred kinda scent. Smells like warm chrysanthemum tea to me.

Overall & Recommendation. I have been using this for a weeks now and I just can't get over it. I just love this cleanser so much because it is super hydrating and cleanse my face so nicely. Although i don't like the scent of it but I am very addicted to how this cleanser does to my face. It removes dirt and all that makeup residue nicely as well as leaves my skin supple an moisturize and makes my pore less visible. My face is less oilier too. This is by far my favorite cleanser right now!

I have been using Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ for 5 days straight, and I can say that it works excellently. First of all, let’s talk about the consistency of this sunscreen. As I squeezed a dollop of it on my palm, I can feel that it is indeed a light cream type. It does not feel greasy or oily when I spread it onto my face. This sunscreen too does not have that pungent smell that many sunscreens came with, so I am relieved upon that fact. Since I have a very small face, I only need a dollop of 20cent size to cover my entire face and neck. My skin absorbed the cream very fast, like in less than 1 minute I no longer feel like there is something on my face. I wore the sunscreen under my makeup, and so far I have tried using it underneath 3 different types of foundation on separate days according to the coverage I need. When I’m using Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ underneath a layer of heavy coverage foundation for oily skin, it doesn’t make my face oily at all throughout the day. Then I tried the sunscreen underneath a normal foundation without oil control properties, my does get oily after 5 hours. The same thing happened when I wore it underneath powder foundation. However, I think it is safe to say that even people with oily skin can wear this Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ without their face going to end up looking like an oil slick.

Throughout the course of wearing Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++, I noticed that my skin does not get that tingling or burning sensation upon applying it and also when I was out under direct sunlight. I can feel that it really protects my skin as my face does not even turn red, which it usually does if I’m exposed to sunlight for more than 5 minutes. Besides, I don’t get any outbreaks upon wearing Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ and I believe that being a non-comodogenic product it also does not clog my pores. Apart from that, when wearing this sunscreen I can feel that my skin is a bit moisturized by it. In a nutshell, I can agree that Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ really does its job in effectively protecting my skin from the sting of sunlight, it gives a bit of moisture onto my skin but for people with oily skin, there will be a need to blot your face after 4 to 5 hours of wearing it on its own or with normal makeup without oil control properties. Another plus point is it does not come with any unpleasant smell and it does not cause breakout, so I can conclude that Kiehl’s Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF50 PA+++ is a worthy sunscreen to invest in.

Ms Tan thoughts on the Kiehl's Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF 50 PA+++

After trying Kiehl's Ultra-Light UV Daily Defense SPF 50 PA+++, I would say I am quite happy with the effect. Firstly, I really love the texture of the Sunblock. It might feel moderately oily when you first apply on your face, but it absorb by the skin very quickly and thus it does not leave your skin looks oily or sticky.

Secondly, I think that this sunblock is worth the money. You don't have to apply a lot. The sunblock can be easily spread.

Thirdly, it give hydration and protection to the skin very well. Now I have less worries when I walk under the sun. I have combination skin, which is oily under the skin (acne-prone) and dry at the surface, which really trouble me a lot. I can't use product that is too moisturizing or too dry. The old sunblock that I used was oil-free, but it ended up too dry until I can see my skin peel off  time to time. But Kiehl's Sunblock works perfectly fine for my skin.

All in all, this is a good product that deserve to be popular and I am sharing this because I hope that sunblock users out there will enjoy the same benefit as well.

I have! So yes! Sunscreen or some called is sun cream are a very important. Some may said, owww I dont like wearing makeup! No, sunscreen is not a makeup. Its a protection Also it needs to be included in your skincare routine just like how we felt cleanser and moisturizer are important. Day by day did you know our UV rays are getting more dangerous. This sunscreen contains these 3 main ingredients that promise to protect you skin and help to make your skin better. One of them are Glycerin that has moisturizing benefits. Second, is Vitamin E which has antioxidants benefits as well as moisturizing benefits. My thoughts. I love how compact this sunscreen is. Love the pump tube and it serve no trouble in dispensing the product out. The sunscreen is pretty lightweight but its is a bit greasy if you put it too much as well as when you are wearing makeup. It is easy to blend and does not leave white cast to your face. I also love the face how it has lots of good properties and benefits to my skin. I use it after moisturizer and also use it as a base for my makeup. The compact size of this sunscreen makes its easy to bring along to re apply when i needed. Price wise, if this really your life savior than its worth it! <3

As-salamu alaykum and hello everyone ♡. Happy Monday. Today I am going to review the serum that I have been using lately to fight my naughty dark spots. I suffer from dark spots usually from my acne scars I am a person who just can't resist to pop my pimples and have that kinda "satisfaction" and "psychologically" feels that my pimple are gone. Usually when my pimples are dried it will form a scar. That is also called dark spot. There are a lot of dark spot to be categorize. One of them are also pigmentation cause my melanin production. This usually happens when our skin are aging and expose to harmful UV rays. So I got the chance to try this Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Dark Spot Solution & Hydrating & Clarifying Treatment Masque that is said to be one of their best seller products.

This is the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Dark Spot Solution. It is basically a serum. Comes in a pump bottle which is a very convenient way to handle. If you have read my past shop tour in Kiehl's (you can read it here link.) Kiehl's is a well known brand that practice simplicity on their products. I love how this bottle looks actually. Its looks like "medicine" bottle. Kinda gives me this mindset that its really concentrating on the problems but not on how it try to attracts customer to buy because of its scent or looks. The bottle and the pump is made out of glass.

An intorduction to this best seller serum. This Clearly Corrective Whit Dark Spot Solution said that its a fast-acting serum that evens skin tone, diminishes dark spots, and impart overall radiance and luminosity to the skin. The key formula ingredient are power-packed Activated C (the latest-generation Vitamin C derivative on the market) breaks up existing dark spot clusters, treat pigment currently present in the skin and prevents the formation of new dark spots. The “anti-cluster” function is 100% active upon application to quickly begin attacking deep dark spots without over drying the skin. Also formulated with White Birch and Peony Extracts. 92% od Asian women saw an improvement in clarity.

The texture of the serum is just like most serum have. Its a bit thick and watery. I use 1 pump for my entire face during my morning skincare routine and night after toner. Gently use it all over my face and pad it gently just to help it absorb better. This serum does not have an overpowering scent. Pretty much don'r have any pretty or floral scent to it. It takes about a few seconds to absorb. If you put it too much it can be a lil sticky. Here below are my picture testimonial. A 2 weeks before and after result. I can't really tell in the picture of you can see it but my dark spots kinda reduce a bit. I can also see my skin a bit brighter. I can't really explain but I can see this serum does gives a lil bit different to my skin. I might use this in a long term and hopefully it will help to reduce or maybe just clear all my acne scars! It is also very light in the skin and hydrating. hehe If you are interested and looking for a dark spot serum, you should give this a try!

The second star product is this Hydrating & Clarifying Treatment Masque. Helps to make the reducing process faster and helps to give you this instant brighter skin. Claims to give you instant Luminosity, 24 hour hydration and This comes in a box of 6 packets. Well, I got to try one. Each mask is equal to 3 weeks of the serum usage. How awesome it that. Also this can be use over your eye lid. So your eye can also gets the pampering! This mask comes in an individual package. Just like an ordinary mask, open the package and take it out. The sheet mask is very soft and easy to apply on the face. I leave it for 20 minutes. Love love love the cooling sensation it gives to my skin. I love how relaxing it feels in my skin. After 20 minutes, I take it off and gently rub in all the excess goodness from the mask. It feels so refreshing and my skin feel so hydrated and supple. This is definitely a good pampering mask after a long day at work especially when you out exposed to the sun all day!

Kiehl's Bangsar Shopping Center | Shop Tour

As-salamu alaykum and hello everyone ♡. Herrorrrr! I miss updating my blog although its been only 2 days. Hm.. Ok now. I have some exciting thing to share. SHOP TOUR! *kids cheering*. One of my favorite post to do is absolutely shop tour, why? because I love shopping and I bet you here that are reading this right now love shopping! 

Here in Malaysia, we have this kinda "culture" where Sales Assistance will follow your butt and keep asking you what you want. If you are broke (which I am always, haha) you will just walk away and if you plan to buy something you might just walk out the store with lots of stuff that the Sales Assistance force you to buy and convince you that you need the whole store. Kiehl's does not practice that, to my surprise. Yup! I totally recommend you out there who really want a, kinda "customize" skincare products tailored for you. Here some example, you have acne problem and dry skin somewhere around your face, Kiehl's will help to choose the specific products for your specific needs. They really appreciate your thoughts and they practice "try first before buy". This does not mean that you try by just swapping on your back of your hand and feels for a few second and you can tell that you like it, ending up you just bought the full size product. Here in Kiehl's, you can have some "consultation" time with the Sales Assistance that pretty much look like a professor to me, super cute uniform! They will suggest you a few products that you need and they will give you samples to try. Go back home, try it for a week and if you are satisfied, go back to Kiehl's store and purchase what you like! How awesome is that. They also have a money back guarantee, product not working for you? Within 30 days, you can give it back and have your money back.

As you walk in, or just pass by you can really tell the shop looks like a laboratory. Reminds me of science class during high school. This is because they want to keep the heritage of how Kiehl's started. Back in the days, people get consultation in Kiehl's Apothecary for their skin matter. Well, skincare is basically like a medication for your skin. Kiehl's were created by Burnswick Apotheke, and then it was inherit by John Kiehl and it goes on and on with lot's of invention that till now been used by Kiehls lover. The packaging of product have not chance much, probably just a little more graphical and minimalist. I kinda love how they look tho! Very vintage like. hehe. As you can see in below picture there is a small box just like what you see in clinics and hospitals!

Above picture shows the old bottles back in the days by Kiehl's and that is the first shop that was build in New York. The tree beside the shop is a Pear tree! Also, the original Kiehl's building before it was rebuilt in 1878, courtesy New York Public Library is on the right side picture. 

As you can see there is so much to explore here! One of the oldest product is the Kiehl's Astringent. this one is suitable for people who have acne prone skin. They offer lots of skincare to choose from with any of your skin problem, they have for dry skin, hydration and many more. If you look closely below there is an avacado eye cream. That is missglamorazzi favorite eye cream! I really want to try that! 

On the second shelf is more of a Dermatologist Solution Section. They look more like a medicine bottle don't they! Below are top 5 best sellers product in this section! The sunscreen is really good, it does not leave any white cast, it feels light on the skin and don't not have any overpowering scent! Kiehl's also offer a BB Cream that actually also acts like a CC Cream! It is called They made it first before it was cooler! hehe. Its has a sheer coverage and perfect for anyone who want a minimal makeup that actually helps to take care of your skin. They comes in 3 shades. As you go below picture, that is one of the most rave product I can ever find in most blogs. Its called the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, RM220 and the one comes in a tube is a night eye serum called Midnight Recovery Eye, RM150.

Kiehl's also offers product for your hair and body. For me their product is really focus on treatening, they don't really offers a wide range of "lots of scent bau wangi-wangi type of product' You should check out their bosy care called Creme de Corps. One of a big celebrity here in Malaysia loves it! ;)

Of course, not forgetting the men! But Kiehl's products can be use for both men and women, but if you are a men who want a specific men products, you can go for this one too! Check out their facial + shaving cream. So cool! If you pay Kiehl's a visit, do check that product! It is called Facial Fuel Sky Flyin' Foaming Multi-Gel, RM85.

Back in the days, of course they use real skeletons, it is not a decoration tho. They really use the skeletons as kind like a dummy to check and show symptoms of the patient who take consultation in Kiehls.
