spy gal & agent zero shine

As-salamu alaykum and hello everyone ♡. Did you read my previous post on this newly launch product that is going to be in Malaysia this February? You can read it here, (link). As you all know I am a big fan for Benefit Cosmetics, I can really admit that I am sold by the cuteness and fun they product can be. I might categorize Benefit Cosmetics are a easy and user friendly to all aspect of people out there. From what I am not mistaken, in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman uses all Benefit Cosmetics as their official makeup product for all makeup looks in the movie. Pretty neat huh? Well, I am not trying to hard sell here but I am talking base on what I think I can share. Good thing is much better to be share with! I took pretty much months to try these products to make sure what I can say about it.

Before that, i am going to talk about the box that came with it. Both come and package in this cute little box that kinda look like a coffin. Haha. Because there is a girl lying inside the design of the box. Well, I guess this is the idea of their "secret" agent that combat pores as they claim. Alright, look closely they look pretty much like a toy doll box. Both box are really pretty and guess what? Yeap, I am not gonna throw this away. Hehe, they just too cute to be in the rubbish bin. So okay okay... They also come with a manual. Well, not only TV's have manual. Haha! This is awesome because it is so PROFESSIONAL! hehe. You can see the manual in each individual review below, each manual consist of steps-by-steps on how to use the product. As promise, here are my review for both of this hot stuff beauty lovers have been talking about. I will be reviewing both individually and as they claim, to get best of both product, these two have to be use together. Let see what I think about it.

The famous product from Benefit Cosmetics. As you see in this picture this is the new and improve packaging. From what I can recall, the old packaging doe not have the girl on the packaging. They have re-make this product by featuring this so called "agent" that kinda like a mascot to the product as a spy girl who zip-zap your pores. It claims to be a product where quickly minimize the appearance of your pores & fine lines as well as give you that smooth skin effect. It is a translucent and it is oil free. It also said it suits all skin type tone and helps to make your makeup stays. So if you are wondering what is this actually, this is actually a face primer. What is a face primer? Face primer usually comes after your skincare routine which is usually moisturizer. This is like the first step in makeup. It is not always compulsory to use primer but since makeup have been popular among us, this kinda product have been marketed. Usually face primers have the same objective that is making your makeup stay put and last longer. They usually gives you a better surface for makeup.

The Untold Story. Did you know this primer were crated by accident? The twin founder of Benefit Cosmetics, Jean & Jane were at the kitchen experimenting on a new primer that they want to create. Then Jean maybe were kinda thirsty and she wanted to make her creative juice and then grabbed a lemon. Jane suddenly were reminder by the lemon about a girl she meet the other day who were so pretty but have large pores. "Pore her!" She said the skin of the lemon that looks like pores remind her to the incident! There is when they had an idea on making the primer not only to make makeup last longer but to disappear the appearance of pores!

Okay, now my thoughts. As I mention quite sometimes in my previous post, I kinda have this Love-Hate feeling towards this product. I give this more time on experimenting. Changing some foundation and BB cream over it to make sure what is really going on with this primer. So I realize that I have a combination skin where usually the areas of my nose are drier than the rest of my face. My nose clog pores easily. I usually need to scrub of my nose to make it squeaky clean. I might say that I love love love this product to be used on the oilier part of my face which is on my fore head and the area on my cheeks but I hate to use this sometimes on my nose. Just a pea amount of size is enough, I don't use this generously all over my face. I focus on spreading this on my fore head and the area of my cheeks and then what's left I just spread it away on the other part of my face. This gives my skin velvety smooth skin instantly. Yes, instantly. If you put too much of it, its gets flaky. So beware of the amount you are spreading. This does makes my makeup last a little longer and make my face less oilier. Sometimes, when I apply to much and proceed to buffering my foundation, this can flake out during my foundation routine.

So you really need some skills and practice on applying the perfect amount of it. Lastly, if you are using this, one round of cleansing routine is not enough. I usually use baby wipes to wipe and "scrub" my face before my cleanser step. This clog pores, so remember to remove it before bedtime or you will realize that your next morning makeup routine will be weird and not perfect. This have a lemony scent to it which I like. Packaging wise, this is made out of a matte plastic tube. It is still clean for now, I hope it does not gets dirty by time and it is hygienic. Price wise its RM120 for 22ml in Malaysia and $30.00 in the USA of product for me is okay because it can last you pretty much long. Oh, they have a industrial size package which you can get to are more discounted price deal, I can't remember how much and how big, but I saw my friend bought it. Oh and can The POREfessional use for eye primer? Sadly no. It is not suitable for that purpose.

Now, presenting to you the new sister product! Agent Zero Shine *Mission impossible music play* . So Spy Gal and Agent Zero Shine are sisters with a same mission that is minimizing people pores! Yeay! Haha! I bet you guys are pretty much excited about this since it is design not like an ordinary powder packaging. Some of you even ask me when I posted in my Instagram what is this thing? Calm down , this is not a laser tube or a mini pop parachute, this is a face powder with a travel size kabuki. This launch at the end of last year and if you watch Mizzglamorazzi and ThatHearts have been loving this.

Benefit Cosmetics claims this product to be a powder that instantly minimizes shine and helps smooth the look of pores. This is uniquely design to ease your application by adding a small kabuki brush in the bottle. It also said to maximize the benefits of it, use over the professional balm and the hello flawless foundation before applying this.

Now drum-roll. My thoughts. At first I was kinda like, nah.. this will work the same as any powder product I use. I will use later. During that time, I have not yet open the product. It is still inside the box. Then one day I need to go back to my hometown. So I decided to bring this along since I am traveling. First impression, why the hell I did not try this earlier?! I love this stuff! Usually, loose powder type of product cakes me and really hard to handle. i will ending up mess around my clothes and table. What I do is, I tap out a bit of product inside the cap, take off the kabuki, and swirl in the cap, then just puff around my face. This works wonders with my new love, L'Oreal BB Cream that have been in my 2013 favorites which you can rad it here, (link). It last long and makes my face stay matte for good hours. This does not feel heavy, and cakey at all. The powder is super fine and "melts" into your skin naturally. Leave my skin matte not flat! The down side of this is the price compare to the amount you will be getting. The powder that you will be getting is only 7g which most powders are more than that. Another thing that it is a loose powder which can finish up fast. This does not have any scent which free fragrance beauty lovers will love this. Packaging wise, super travel friendly, since it comes with a soft (not tacky) brush that can be use for touch ups on the go. For price wise as mention it will be a lil splurge to the amount you will be getting.

Overall of these two sister. Yep, they are awesome to go along together. While the Pore-fessional balm gives me a nice velvety matte canvas for my foundation and BB creams, this set everything together. As you can see to the texture and color of the balm it does have a lil color in it that does not really shows when you apply it. It really feels like a balm and instantly "change" to a powder feel after blending in. For the powder, it does look a little fair to a darker skin tone color. Currently this is the only one shade available. I am not sure if this suits darker skin tone, but it really suits my medium-fair yellow skin tone. The color does not really shows, it is light and blends in to my natural skin tone color. Don't know if this does the same to darker skin tone color. See below image comparable to with and without both product. On the left side of my hand I have applied the balm first and sweep over the powder while the right one is just a bare hand. Look closely if you can tell, the fine lines of my hand are reduce and look matte. So would you make Spy Gal & Agent Zero Shine your best friend?
